Out East

We believe art is more than just a finished painting — it’s about connection, creativity, and community.
Based in Gisborne, New Zealand, Art Club Out East brings together artists and art lovers in a relaxed, welcoming space where everyone feels at home.
Whether you’re picking up a brush for the first time or rekindling an old passion, our workshops are about sharing stories, exploring creativity, and connecting through the joy of making. There’s no pressure and no perfection — just time to slow down, create, and enjoy the process.
We keep our groups small and personal, creating space for encouragement, conversation, and genuine creative connection.
If you’d like to book a workshop or find out about upcoming sessions, we’d love to hear from you!

OIL PASTEL WORKSHOP
Join Lauren Callender for an intimate oil pastel workshop for 6–7 people. You’ll be guided through the process of drawing with oil pastels on paper in a relaxed and supportive environment — perfect for beginners or anyone wanting to reconnect with their creativity.
Your booking includes a complete oil pastel starter kit, with everything you need to continue creating at home, packed in a canvas tote bag.
This workshop is slightly more structured than Lauren’s acrylic painting classes. The first half will focus on step-by-step guidance to create a landscape piece together, followed by time to explore your own subject and style in the second half.
Contact us below to book.
PAYMENT
Bank deposit details will be provided upon booking confirmation. Payment is required prior to the workshop commencing. Cash payments are also welcome and can be made on arrival.
